Career Opportunity:
The City of Las Vegas, Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Makerspace Assistant (Sr Assistant).
The Makerspace Assistant is responsible for developing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating youth and daily activities in the Becker Technology Center's design lab in a variety of STEAM based activities. The Makerspace Assistant may provide instruction and support for youth ages 4-18 interested in STEAM activities/programs including gaming, tinkering, 3D/2D printing, programming, building, art, design, robotics, and other activities. The Makerspace Assistant will be assigned to front desk to perform cashiering duties. The Makerspace Assistant will facilitate and supervise eSports activities.
This is an hourly level/ part-time position in the Sr Assistant series. This position is distinguished from other Sr Assistant positions by the assigned duties. Scheduled hours for this position are limited to 19 hours or less per week (Shift will vary based on the needs of the programs and facility). Hourly employees are also limited to 1,560 hours of work in any 18 month period.
Supervision Received
Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff.
